REGISTRATION
All participants are required to officially register via the online registration form.
All Technical Summit 2025 registration fees are in Australian Dollars and inclusive of GST.
In order to obtain member savings, you MUST be a financial member of the SMSF Association at the time of registering. Special Offers may be limited to membership categories and/or other special criteria.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
In the event of cancellations, the following cancellation rules and fees shall apply:
Registration cancellations received up until 5:00pm (ACST) on Friday 4 July 2025 may be eligible to receive a full refund less a $260 administration fee.
Any cancellation received after 5:00pm (ACST) on Friday 4 July 2025 will not be eligible to receive a refund. Delegates can maintain their registration and have access to full program virtually and on demand post event.
Attendee substitutions to another person from your organisation can be made up until the event commences. This may be subject to a price adjustment based on membership category and/or status.
A credit may be held to be applied to any other SMSF Association event (not membership fees) however this is subject to approval and at the discretion of the SMSF Association.
Note: Any applicable refund will be returned via the same payment method as the original receipt of funds.

INSURANCE
You are strongly advised to secure appropriate travel and health insurance. Delegate registration fees do not provide any such insurance coverage. The SMSF Association accepts no responsibility for any loss in this regard.
TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION
Individual travel arrangements including flights and accommodation are the responsibility of the individual.
The Event Venue does not offer accommodation. Accommodation options can be found on the Technical Summit website.
Separate Terms & Conditions apply for accommodation bookings directly with the chosen property.
CONDITION OF ENTRY
Delegates are expected to act professionally and abide by the additional health and safety measures implemented by the Sydney Masonic Centre. Conditions of entry apply to all attendees and are subject to change without notice in line with federal and state government directives.
UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES
Should any unforeseen circumstances (including COVID or other related circumstances) prevent the SMSF Association Technical Summit 2025 from proceeding (including the SMSFA deciding that it will not hold the event as planned), the SMSF Association will:
Reschedule the event to another date, or;
Hold the event virtually, or;
Refund the registration fee in full should the delegate prefer
UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES
We reserve the right to change the program and/or speakers from that which is advertised,
Should we be forced to do so, we will use our best endeavours to ensure that any substituted sessions are of equal quality and relevance.
Should such changes be necessary, this will not entitle delegates to a refund or part refund of their Technical Summit 2025 registration.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
In the event of cancellations, the following cancellation rules and fees shall apply:
Registration categories
Registration cancellations received up to 5.30pm CST 30 days before the Conference (on or before 17 January 2025), will receive a full refund less a $250 administration fee.
Changes to registration categories (i.e. from an in person to virtual registration) received up to 5.30pm CST 30 days before the Conference (on or before 17 January 2025), will receive a refund of the difference in registration fee less a $250 administration fee.
Any cancellation or changes to registration categories received less than 30 days prior to the conference (18 January 2025 onwards) will not be eligible to receive a refund.
A credit less a $250 administration fee may be held to be applied to any other SMSF Association event (excluding membership fees) however this is subject to approval and at the discretion of the SMSF Association.

CONDITION OF ENTRY
INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOUR
Inappropriate behaviour, sexual harassment or bullying will not be tolerated. The SMSF Association can ask the offending individuals to leave the conference and exhibition venue.
HEALTH & SAFETY
All persons entering the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre are expected to act in a safe manner and abide by relevant health and safety measures put in place by Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in line with federal and state government directives.
The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any attendee showing symptoms such as excessive coughing, fever, running nose etc. The SMSF Association takes no responsibility or liability for the refused entry or removal of an attendee.
The Association is committed to ensuring that it delivers a safe National Conference experience for all attendees (including but not limited to delegates, supporters, exhibitors, staff and contractors). We are constantly monitoring and assessing the rules, protocols and best practice approaches aimed at ensuring attendee safety. We are mindful that the majority of these rules, protocols and approaches evolve over time.
The SMSF Association reserves the right to provide your contact details to authorities and/or the venue if required for the purpose of contact tracing and or/any other government requirements.
UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES
Should any unforeseen circumstances (including COVID or other related circumstances) prevent the SMSF Association National Conference 2025 from proceeding (including the SMSFA deciding that it will not hold the event as planned), the SMSF Association can/may at its discretion:
- Reschedule the event to another date, or;
- Hold the event virtually, or;
- Refund the registration fee in full should the delegate prefer
Should venue capacity limits as a result of relevant state or federal government directives or other circumstances arise impacting event numbers the SMSF Association may regrettably need to revoke some registrations. Should this eventuate, the SMSF Association may transfer the revoked LIVE registrations to VIRTUAL registrations and refund the difference between the LIVE event ticket price and the VIRTUAL event ticket price to these delegates. Delegates can choose to have their registration fees refunded in full. If this impacts the number of attendees and applies equally to all delegates, registrations will be revoked on a last-on, first-off basis.
National Conference 2025 Gamification Competition Terms and Conditions
- The SMSF Association National Conference App Gamification Competition is open to all registered delegates of the SMSF Association National Conference 2025, who attend in-person in Melbourne from 19-21 February 2025.
- Taking part in this competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
- Attendees will need to download the National Conference App to participate in the App Gamification Competition.
- Prizes will be awarded to both the Individual who earns the most points, as well as all members of the Team who collectively earn the most points.
- A team must achieve a minimum of 5,000 points to be eligible for the team prize.
- Attendees are automatically awarded teams on attending National Conference. No changes to teams will be made.
- Winners will be awarded based on the highest score achieved in the App Gamification Competition by 12.00pm (AEST), Friday 21 February 2025.
- The winners will be announced in the last session at the SMSF Association National Conference 2025, on 21 February 2025.
- Prizes:

SMSF ASSOCIATION Audit discussion group Terms and conditions
1. REGISTRATION
1.1 The auditor discussion group (‘ADG’) is available to SMSF Association (‘Association’) members who are:
a) Current SMSF Specialist Auditor (SSAud) members; or
b) A current member and a registered candidate in the SMSF Specialist Auditor course.
1.2 The Association may, at its absolute discretion, approve a member who does not meet the criteria in 1.1 to attend one or more ADGs.
1.3 The Association may at any time and at its absolute discretion, cancel or terminate a member’s ADG registration.
1.4 All participants are required to register via the online registration form.
1.5 By registering, participants agree to the Association using their personal data for any event registration and related communications.
1.6 Registration and attendance to the ADG are strictly personal. Access to live sessions or recordings is expressly limited to the registered individual only.
1.7 By registering for this event, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2. CONDUCT
2.1 Participants agree to maintain respect and professionalism, and to act in accordance with the Association’s Code of Professional
Conduct.
2.2 Abusive, offensive, bullying, discriminatory, harassment or defamatory behaviour is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated.
2.3 Any conduct in breach of the Association’s Code of Professional Conduct will be referred to the Professional Standards Committee or the
Board.
Recordings and Publication
3.1 By participating in the ADG you consent to the recording of your image or voice. These recordings will be exclusively available to
registrants for a period of up to 3 months, or another period of time as determined by the SMSF Association.
3.2 Recordings will not be disseminated or published beyond the scope set out in these terms and conditions.
3.3 Creating, transmitting, or publishing personal recordings (videos, audio, or images), is strictly prohibited. Doing so is a breach of these
terms and conditions and the privacy of other participants.
3.4 Participants agree not to share, distribute, or publish any content or information from the ADG sessions on any
media outlets, social media, or other public platforms, without the explicit consent of all parties involved. This applies to comments and
questions from members, facilitators, or guests, including any comments attributable to the Australian Taxation Office.
PURPOSE AND INTENT
4.1 The purpose and intent of the ADG, is to provide a forum for members to participate in discussions regarding the audit of SMSFs. This
includes topics of a technical nature, professional and ethical standards, as well as other associated issues experienced by members in
practice.
4.2 Participation in this discussion group signifies a collective agreement to engage in discussions that are meant exclusively for the
educational and informational benefit of attendees. These discussions are to be conducted in good faith and mutual respect for the
benefit of all.
4.3 Members are expected to uphold the confidential nature of these discussions at all times. This commitment to discretion is pivotal in
fostering an environment of trust and open communication.
4.4 The ADG serves as a forum for general guidance and is not a substitute for professional or client specific advice. The information shared
is general in nature and should be evaluated against individual circumstances before application. No warranty is given as to its accuracy
and persons who rely on this information do so at their own risk.
4.5 Any statements, views or opinions expressed by participants are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of the SMSF
Association. The accuracy of any information shared is not guaranteed, and reliance on it is at the individual’s own risk. The accuracy of
these opinions is not assured, and reliance on them should be cautiously evaluated.
4.6 Representatives of the Australian Taxation Office may attend the ADG. Their attendance is to help qualify information and provide ATO
views on various matters, thereby enriching the discussions.
4.7 Where a formal opinion is required from the Commissioner of Taxation in relation to a specific client matter, application should be made
using the appropriate channels, including:
a) Private binding rulings;
b) SMSF specific advice; or
c) SMSF early engagement and voluntary disclosure
4.8 A member or members of the SMSF Association technical team may be present to assist in clarifying queries and supplement
discussions with additional insights as needed.
4.9 Occasionally, follow-up on discussed matters may be required. Such information may be conveyed in in future ADG sessions or via direct
communication with attendees including via email.
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD)
5.1 CPD is provided solely for registered individuals.
5.2 To qualify for CPD, attendees must:
a) Register to attend via the SMSF Association website; and
b) Attend at least 80% of the session.
5.3 CPD can be obtained by attending the live ADG or by viewing the recorded session through the member dashboard. CPD will only be
provided once per unique event, regardless of the number of times the content is accessed.
5.4 Attendees who meet the CPD criteria will receive a CPD certificate from the Association. For attendees of the live ADG session, this will
generally be within 2 business days after the event. Whilst every effort is made, the issue of certificates for the viewing of recordings will
be issued as soon as is practicable by the end of each month.
